Bryan County Election Board
The bi-partisan Bryan County Election Board is comprised of three members appointed by the State Election Board: Gloria Hodge, Chairman; Amanda Current, Vice-Chairman; and Kimberly Norris, Secretary. The Board also includes two alternate members: Patricia Sorrels and Margaret Wolf. The Secretary is responsible for hiring an Assistant Secretary and temporary staff, as needed, to conduct elections. The Secretary is the administrative officer of the County Election Board and has general supervisory authority over all precinct officials and absentee voting board members within the county. The County Election Board Secretary, with support from the Assistant Secretary, is responsible for conducting federal, state, municipal, and school elections in Bryan County and for maintaining voter registration and absentee voting records in accordance with state law. The Secretary is also responsible for conducting candidate filing for county, municipal, and school board elections, as applicable.
Other general administration duties of the County Election Board Secretary include preparing the annual budget in coordination with the County Budget Board and County Commissioners, securing polling places, conducting post-election audits (as directed by the Secretary of the State Election Board), and implementing all policies and procedures as required by law.
The County Election Board office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with extended office hours during elections, as well as candidate filing and contest periods.
